Mentorship Program

Overview

Mentees are paired up with a mentor based on career path and both parties’ personalities. Future mentees are encouraged to explain what they’re looking for in a mentor and how they best learn.

In addition to regular virtual mentor meetings and check-ins, Disable the Media will be an ongoing career resource for its program members. Over the course of the five-month program, you will receive resume services, a monthly chat with other mentees, guest speakers and help identifying career opportunities.

While Disable the Media is still in its infancy, it is dedicated to helping every mentee enter their career with all the tools and guidance to needed navigate the industry with a disability.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome anyone about to enter, currently enrolled in college or recent graduates. Your type of disability will not impact your eligibility for the mentorship program. Physical disabilities and invisible disabilities all come with their own perspectives and therefore are equally needed in the industry.

The program will pair you up with a mentor that fits your unique career aspirations and you are encouraged to be as specific as possible in your application.

If you are disabled and want to pursue public relations, journalism, or digital media, this is the program for you. The mentor program does not currently specialize in the fabulous creators who are looking to be actors, performers or models. If you’re an aspiring actor, screenwriter or model, please visit C Talent, Changing the Face of Beauty, VisABLE People or Zebedee.
